As part of its efforts to promote equality, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg honours particularly talented, high-achieving and committed female students in MINT* bachelor's and master's degree programmes every year. Submission deadline: 28 February 2026

On 15 December 2025, the second network meeting on the integration of international students at BTU into the regional labour market took place. Under the title ‘Internationale Studierende in der Region halten’, 29 representatives from the university, the student body, the regional economy and institutions related to the labour market and integration came together.

The Centre for Structural Change and Regional Development (ZeStuR) at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), which is funded by the federal government with 16 million euros from the Structural Strengthening Act, will begin its work in November 2025.

From 22-24 September 2025, representatives from administration, business and science from the Polish coal mining region of Katowice learned about structural change in Lusatia and explored opportunities for future research cooperation with BTU.

Along his academic journey from India to Freiburg and Cottbus, John Joe Padua is pursuing the goal of making industrial production more sustainable. With a focus on hydrogen infrastructure and the European electricity market, he is working on solutions for a low-carbon future and deepening his expertise at the Decarbonisation Summer School.

From 4 to 6 July, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invited scholarship holders from all over the world to Berlin to celebrate 100 years of the DAAD together. BTU doctoral student and DAAD scholarship holder Ms Freda Adiali had the unique opportunity to exchange ideas with DAAD President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee and Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul.

Exciting insights, digital solutions for the energy transition: Science, business and politics came together at the second Annual Meeting of the Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ) on 10 and 11 June 2025.
