In memory of Prof. Dr Erhard Stein

Many of his companions and alumni will remember him fondly

It was with regret that we received the news that Prof. Dr Erhard Stein passed away and was buried on Friday, 27 June 2025.

He had been employed at Campus Senftenberg since the early 1990s and was Head of the Chair of Measuring and Sensor Technology at the Institute of Electrical Systems and Energy Logistics in Faculty 3 of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Energy Systems at Campus Senftenberg when he retired in 2020. The fact that he was awarded the teaching prize in July 2016 showed just how committed and popular he was among students and staff. In almost 30 years on campus, he has influenced several generations. He also met annually with his current and former students. These alumni meetings were used by many to personally reunite with their esteemed Professor Stein. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to continue these meetings in this form. Nevertheless, we hope to be able to welcome Prof. Stein's alumni and former students to other BTU events and alumni meetings in the future. If you are still interested in BTU events, please subscribe to the alumni mailing list at www.b-tu.de/alumni.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Prof. Stein's family, friends and companions and will keep him in positive memory.
