Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is once again visiting Cottbus Zoo with its Open BTU series. On Wednesday 3 June 2026, as part of the 37th Cottbus Environment Week, anyone interested is invited to the zoo restaurant at 5.30 pm.

The latest event in the Open BTU series, taking place on Wednesday 27 May 2026, is dedicated to the history of the Berlin Wall. Anyone interested is invited to the main campus in Cottbus to hear a talk by Prof. Dr Leo Schmidt, the long-standing former holder of the Chair of Architectural Conservation at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

The Open BTU series at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg is coming to Finsterwalde. All interested parties are invited to attend a presentation by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Angelika Mettke, from the Building Recycling Department, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of the Finsterwalde eG Housing Cooperative at Brandenburger Straße 2g.

Anyone interested is invited to attend the talk by Matthias Heider from the Institute for Democracy and Civil Society in Jena at the Central Lecture Theatre Building on the main campus of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

A new certificate course combines strategic management, crisis communication and technological tools to create an interdisciplinary learning programme. This practical course prepares students, Staff Members working in government departments, local politics and public administration, as well as volunteers, for the challenges of modern crisis management.

Dr Christoph Maximilian Abels, behavioural scientist at the University of Potsdam, will conclude the Open BTU series at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the current winter semester.

On Friday, 19 December 2025 at 5:30 pm, participants in the public lecture series "Forensic Sciences: On the trail of the crime" at the Cottbus main campus of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will follow the trail of past clues to previously unsolved criminal cases. The officer will be former Director of Criminal Investigation Karsten Bettels.
