We explore social change

General economics with a focus on energy and environmental economics

The Department of General Economics with a focus on energy and environmental economics deals with changes in social systems triggered by environmental problems and innovations.

We conduct research at the interface between innovation economics, environmental economics, energy economics and regional economics. In particular, our field addresses transformation problems arising from environmental structural change.

Inter- and transdisciplinary research projects with engineering, natural and other social sciences, as well as transdisciplinary projects with partners from business and society are typical for our scientific work.
