Admission to doctoral studies

The following documents have to submit to fakultaet3+forschung(at)b-tu.de:

  • Registration form
  • Copies of certificates of academic degrees, i.e. copies of the certificates and transcripts of the acquired university degrees.

For applicants with a foreign university degree, the following also applies:

If the original of the certificates and transcripts of the degrees are not in German or English, a certified German or English translation is required.

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Declaration that the doctoral regulations are known
  • Declaration that no doctoral projects are in progress at other universities, confirmation of discontinuation if applicable
  • Declaration of knowledge of the principles of good scientific practice
  • Declaration of enrolment for doctoral studies is planned
  • optionally, a doctoral agreement to be concluded with the supervisor

Submission of applications for admission as a doctoral candidate is exclusively done electronically to fakultaet3+forschung(at)b-tu.de.

Further processing:

  • The application documents and the admission requirements will check in the Dean's Office.
  • The International Relations Office will check the admission requirements of foreign applicants.
  • The Faculty Council decides on admission as a doctoral candidate at the next session (meeting dates with submission deadline). You will be informed by the Dean's Office after the session.
  • The documents will send to the Student Services or to the International Relations Office (for foreign students) for enrolment as a doctoral student.

Annahme zur Promotion

Folgende Unterlagen sind an fakultaet3+forschung(at)b-tu.de einzureichen:

  • Erfassungsbogen
  • Zeugniskopien von bisherigen akademische Abschlüssen, d.h. Kopien der Urkunden und Zeugnisse der bisher erworbenen Hochschulabschlüsse

Für Bewerbende mit ausländischem Hochschulabschluss gilt zusätzlich:
Sofern das Original der Urkunden und Zeugnisse der bisher erworbenen Hochschulabschlüsse nicht in Deutsch oder Englisch ausgestellt ist, wird zusätzlich eine beglaubigte deutsche oder englische Übersetzung benötigt.

  • Lebenslauf
  • Erklärung, dass die Promotionsordnung bekannt ist
  • Erklärung, dass keine Promotionsvorhaben an anderen Hochschulen laufen, gegebenenfalls Bestätigung des Abbruchs
  • Erklärung über die Kenntnis der Grundsätze guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis
  • Erklärung, ob die Einschreibung zum Promotionsstudium geplant ist
  • optional Promotionsvereinbarung, die mit der Betreuerin bzw. dem Betreuer abzuschließen ist

Einreichung von Anträgen auf Zulassung als Doktorandin bzw. Doktorand erfolgt ausschließlich elektronisch an fakultaet3+forschung(at)b-tu.de.

Weitere Bearbeitung:

  • Die Antragsunterlagen sowie die Zulassungsvoraussetzungen werden im Dekanat geprüft.
  • Für ausländische Bewerbende wird eine Prüfung der Zulassungsvoraussetzungen durch das International Relations Office vorgenommen.
  • Der Fakultätsrat entscheidet in der nächstfolgenden Arbeitssitzung (Sitzungstermine mit Einreichungsfrist) über die Zulassung als Doktorandin bzw. Doktorand. Anschließend werden Sie durch das Dekanat schriftlich über die Entscheidung informiert.
  • Für die Einschreibung als Promotionsstudierende werden die Unterlagen an den Studierendenservice bzw. bei ausländischen Studierenden an das International Relations Office übergeben.
