Lecture "Potentials and hurdles of the infrastructure transformation from gas to hydrogen" - part of the lecture series "Hydrogen-Future-Lausitz?!"
Potentials and hurdles of the infrastructure transformation from gas to hydrogen
Lecture from the lecture series "Hydrogen-Future-Lausitz?!"
Speaker: Dr. Stella Oberle, Fraunhofer IEG
What is the lecture about?
The energy price crisis in 2022 at the latest made it clear that the future of gas distribution networks is uncertain or even finite. On the other hand, according to the Heat Planning Act, which came into force this year, areas in municipalities can be designated as hydrogen network areas. This lecture will take a closer look at the opportunities and challenges arising from the decommissioning or transformation to hydrogen distribution on the part of network operators as well as network users. Technical, economic and regulatory aspects will be considered.
