The Senftenberg Workshop brings together a wide range of stakeholders from schools and universities, state and local politics, education administration, associations and, last but not least, student teachers. The focus of the 7th such event at BTU was the planned dual Master's degree programme for primary school teachers.

The globally unique project in the Hühnerwasser spring area has been running for 20 years. In 2005, researchers from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) began observing how an ecosystem develops. Today, Wednesday 23 April 2025, the usage contract with LEAG was extended for a further five years.

Experts from science and practice will be discussing the opportunities and challenges for land use in Lower Lusatia as well as future-proof and sustainable agriculture as part of the "Open BTU" public lecture series at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 at 5:30 pm.

This day was eagerly awaited: The student team Lausitz Dynamics from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg tested its newly revised fuel cell-powered energy-saving vehicle on the race track for the first time. The test drive took place on 10 April 2025 at the DEKRA Lausitzring in Klettwitz and was a big step for the entire team.

BTU is working with committed partners to promote extracurricular STEM education in the Elbe-Elster district. In Herzberg, Mayor Karsten Eule-Prütz, BTU Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr Peer Schmidt and Max Paulus from neuland21 e.V. opened the STEM cluster project ‘Makermobil Herzberg’.

The BTU's physics internship on Campus Senftenberg has long since ceased to be an insider tip among grammar schools and sixth form centres in the region. Traditionally, it is also populated by experimenting A-level students, in particular in the spring months.

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is delighted to welcome numerous new exchange students again this year.

Successful kick-off: Prof. Dr Michael Hübner, Vice President for Research and Transfer at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, and Prof. Dr Adelheid Kuhlmey, Founding Director of Science at MUL-CT, hosted the first professional exchange - and met with great interest with the Science@Lausitz event series.

The start has been made. The first-year students gathered for the central kick-off event in the large lecture theatre. There they were warmly welcomed into the BTU family by BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande.
