Students of the Integrated German-Polish Study Program inform about their study motivation and first impressions:

Cottbus is a "cozy" place to study. The German-Polish study program offered me the perspective of learning a new foreign language and living abroad for 2 semesters. Especially with regard to the European development, I consider this study program very advantageous!

In my search for a combined degree program between social and intercultural work, the German-Polish degree program in Cottbus was the only offer I could find. Therefore, I was very happy when I received an acceptance letter and after the first few months I think it was the right decision. Especially the first excursions to Poland were great and also the climate. is such that you feel comfortable. I am looking forward to the next years in Cottbus and in Poland and I am excited about new experiences.

I think that this study program is particularly interesting because there is the possibility to obtain a double diploma, which makes you stand out a bit from the many social workers that exist. I am really looking forward to Poland, the people, the culture and the country. Polish is a difficult language, but due to the many excursions to Poland as well as the super language lessons, anyone can cope with it and there is no need to be afraid. Apply, it's worth it!

What I particularly like about the integrated German-Polish study program is the special feature of being able to learn another foreign language and to study one practical and one theoretical semester abroad compared to the regular SA/ SP program. I think that the experience abroad will be a great advantage later on when looking for a job and in professional life. Personally, I would always choose this study program again.

I chose the place of study because I would like to live and work in this region later on, which is of course very obvious when you study in the integrated German-Polish degree program. This study program enables me to learn a language that not many people from Germany have mastered at this point in time. In addition, this study program gives me an insight into another country, which of course allows me to acquire intercultural skills and these can be decisive for my later career choice. I am very satisfied with the intensive study support because you are not left out in the cold when it comes to semester and study planning. I really enjoy studying in Cottbus and now I am really looking forward to the 3-week intensive language course in Krakow, where we will definitely learn a lot, but also have a lot of fun.

I think this German-Polish study program is really very good for future career opportunities. Because I think Poland will become more and more important due to the EU accession. Through the many excursions, you also get to know the country and the culture better and the hospitality of the people. A special challenge is also to learn the Polish language and hopefully to be able to use it well later, when you are there for 2 semesters. So I can only say that it was the best decision to start this German-Polish study program.

Through an intensive search for my own inclinations and interests, several years in professional life, among others in public administration, the construction industry and gastronomy, I finally came to the conclusion that the German-Polish study program prepares me in a way for the professional activity that I have identified as corresponding to me, as hardly any other study program at a German university is able to do. The interest I have always had in new cultures, traditions and social norms is not only dealt with on a purely theoretical level in this study program, but is made personally tangible and experiential. I hardly think there is a better way to qualify for service abroad.
