Excursion of students of the Pontifical University of Krakow (UP JP II) to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg

12 students of social work of UP JPII from Krakow with their lecturer, Dr. Bozena Majerek, visited the German-Polish social work program of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The main focus of the visit is the intercultural exchange of Polish and German students of the social work program. The curricula of the two study programs will be presented and compared. The Polish guests will have the opportunity to attend numerous lectures on topics related to the German social welfare system. Furthermore, practical excursions to regional providers of international social work as well as to institutions in the field of youth and social welfare will take place.

Within the framework of various events, students and university lecturers will reflect on their intercultural experiences in the field of social work - and exchange their professional knowledge with reference to the special features of social work in Poland and Germany. A joint research project in this field is planned. The highlight of the meeting is a joint workshop ("foreign evening"), in which the guests of the partner university in Gorzów, Dr. Orlwowska as well as the Polish coordinator of the German-Polish study program Slawomir Szenwald, will also participate.

The project is supported by WOJEWODZTWO MALOPOLSKIE and Fundacja im. Świętej Królowej Jadwigi dla Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II w Krakowie.

Excursions of the Integrated German-Polish Study Program to Gorzów and Szprotawa

In addition to trips to the Polish partner university in Gorzów, excursions also take students to Poland, for example to Szprotawa. There, the students of the first semester get to know different social institutions where they can complete their internship abroad. In addition to the visits to the institutions, the third semester regularly organizes inter-year events, e.g. foreign evenings with typical Polish food and traditions.
