Therapy Science
Students in the study programme Therapy Sciences during gymnastics exercises in the gymnasium
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Description

The study course is a pilot project in the training of physiotherapists. The study of therapy science improves scientific competence in the field of physiotherapy, taking specific professional requirements into account and improving professional pedagogical knowledge. Graduates gain greater autonomy in therapy and professional practice thanks to the developed scientific training content. The course qualifies graduates to take on responsibility in highly complex therapy and professional practice and evaluate these on the basis of scientific knowledge and methods.

The full-time studies in therapy sciences with combined vocational training offer the opportunity to simultaneously gain a first third-level qualification and professional qualification.

Alongside their studies, students carry out professional training with a cooperating partner of around 1,600 hours. Of these, 750 hours are part of the bachelor’s studies (professional training).  After eight semesters the studies end with the bachelor’s thesis. The professional training ends simultaneously with the state examination (professional examination) that is integrated into the modular examinations.
