"Closed season over: On living with daily anti-Semitism"
Juna Grossmann works in various museums and memorials and also runs the blog "irgendwie jüdisch" (somehow Jewish). For years, the Berlin native has been observing how openly anti-Jewish attacks are increasing, becoming louder and more threatening. In her book "Schonzeit vorbei: Über das Leben mit dem täglichen Antisemitismus", the Jewish German describes life under this constant anti-Semitic bombardment, reports on the growth of a fear that she was unaware of a few years ago, and how one day she realized that she too was now living on packed suitcases, ready to flee from the hatred. But where should you go in a world where anti-Semitism is becoming the norm again?
Juna Grossmann studied special education and has managed the exhibition office of a Berlin museum since 2009. She is a volunteer in the "Meet a Jew" encounter project of the Central Council of Jews in Germany. In 2018, she published her book "Schonzeit vorbei: On living with daily anti-Semitism" was published in 2018.
