Subject Area Heritage Management

The Chair of Heritage Management is dedicated to the protection, preservation, promotion and administration of cultural heritage in all its tangible and intangible expressions. The chair applies interdisciplinary paradigms and methods, drawing on a variety of academic disciplines ranging from human geography and anthropology to strategic management and representing a broad range of academic approaches.

In the MA programmes World Heritage Studies (WHS) and Heritage Conservation and Site Management (HCSM) the chair introduces the management of cultural heritage in its tangible and intangible forms, especially in terms of its institutional administration, presentation and communication, as well as measures that contribute to the protection and preservation of heritage in all its diversity.

In terms of academic research, the chair's activities are currently focused on the strategic approaches of management and representation of heritage, both in the local context through the integration of various interests, as well as on a global level in the strategic planning approaches of international organizations.
