A warm welcome to BTU (Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg), and congratulations on becoming part of our international, forward-thinking academic family! You’re now joining a university where curiosity meets innovation and collaboration thrives across borders.
Founded in 1991, BTU has quickly grown into a forward-looking university with two main campuses in Cottbus and Senftenberg. We are a modern technical university with around 7,000 students, of whom approximately 40% come from over 120 countries—a testament to our rich international community.
Unlike large impersonal institutions, BTU values personalized academic support, with close communication between students and faculty. Many describe our campus as inclusive and motivating—“innovative, connected, and caring.”
