ALTERInnovations EudaPraX - Eudaimogenesis Practical

Runtime

8/2021 to 9/2023

The municipalities in Lusatia are undergoing a transformation process. The population is ageing. This is both a challenge and an opportunity. The skills of older citizens can be strengthened. They can help shape the structural change in the region.

The btu is intensifying cooperation with committed older people in the municipalities of Guben and Spremberg. For example, a Citizen Science Scout is working with social workers to build bridges between older people and the university. They become citizen researchers in workshops. This is visualized publicly in the communities. These activation approaches are being researched and alternative models of age transition are being developed.

Age innovations expands the primarily economic and technological understanding of innovation to include transfer to society. The contributions of older people are not only seen as an opportunity for activation and participation, but also as elements of transdisciplinary knowledge production. Solutions for shaping active age transitions are also being developed in other regions.

Project part: EudaPraX

Students from btu, the age innovations team, municipal staff members and citizens meet regularly to plan and implement the project of a calendar of events aimed in particular at people aged 55 and over.
