The service offered by the chair concentrates on building with existing structures in cooperation with the Institute of research and material testing at the BTU (FMPA) [Link] and regional architects and engineers. Our expertise focusses on

• structural investigation and building diagnostics (incl. damage analysis)
• structural analysis of existing buildings
• development of appropriate and gentle re-strengthening measures also for challenging historical structures.

A key aspect of our expertise is the investigation of historic bridge bearings made of street castings  - in cooperation with the company Block Materialprüfungsgesellschaft mbH which covers the in-situ material testing.

Furthermore our chair is engaged in professional training outside the BTU in the area of building with existing structures.
