Competences regarding floating architecture design and construction, currently developed in the field of opencast post-mining landscapes of Lausitz, are being further bundled and perfected in the region.

In this respect climatic and limnological conditions including water wave parameters along with related constructive and building materials developments as well as economic studies play a crucial role. Floating buildings are not only of regional interest. Due to growing demands caused by climate change the increasing world population is dependent on finding alternatives to potential land use for the future.
