DiMe-Sozial - Digitality and media literacy in Social Work
Symposium DiMe-Sozial - Digitality and media literacy in Social Work
Discourses on digitalisation, digitality and mediatisation in social work are sometimes strongly influenced by actors who are located outside of social work. This is often taken for granted and taken for granted. The organisers of the symposium wonder whether this approach is still up to date. While it used to be taken for granted that Media Pedagogy or other professionals would play in this field, the question now arises as to whether Social Work itself should become active here. The symposium on the module area "Digitality and Media Literacy in Social Work" will explore the question of whether emancipatory endeavours are needed from within social work in order to make the aforementioned triad more of its own. Various questions can be considered for this purpose, which will be discussed with colleagues from social work academia and practice during the symposium: What does Social Work need to be able to operate professionally in a post-digital society? Is there a need for a separate theoretical approach related to digitalisation that is developed from Social Work or meets the demands of Social Work in a more targeted manner? Do we need a new professional journal? More further education and training? New study programmes? ...
In order to explore these and other questions, the symposium will take the form of a barcamp, which is intended to provide an open space for dialogue within Social Work.
We cordially invite all interested parties to attend the presentation of the results on Fri, 24 March 2023 from 11.00 a.m. at the following link to take part in the exchange and discussion round:
