More women in STEM - how do we create better prospects?
The focus was on promoting career prospects for women in STEM professions using the example of the German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA), combined with concrete recommendations on how women can be specifically supported.
Particular emphasis was placed on
- clear and transparent communication even before recruitment
- flexible working time models without career disadvantages
- more visibility for female successes in both scientific and non-scientific roles
A varied programme of presentations, discussion rounds and interactive formats provided space for intensive exchange, in particular on the question of how the results can be implemented sustainably and used beyond the DZA and the region.
We took away many valuable suggestions and look forward to continuing to actively promote the advancement of women in STEM in the LSP.
