A relaxed start to your studies with the BTU STEM Women's Scholarship
To the scholarship holders of the MINT Women's Scholarship receive 250 euros per month in the first two semesters of their studies, workshops to help them get started and a network of successful women from science and business.
The scholarship is aimed at schoolgirls and professionally qualified women who decide to pursue a Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject - Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Technology - on their way to a successful academic career.
"With the STEM Women's Scholarship, we want to motivate more female prospective students to pursue a career in STEM and inspire them to study," emphasize Dr. Ramona RiedelandPascal Fritzsche, the twoSTEM ambassadors at BTU who supervise the project. "We expressly encourage young women to apply for this. The decisive factor is not the grade point average, but rather personal motivation and passion for the subject in question."
After the scholarship was successfully established at BTU in 2022 under the leadership of the Equal Opportunities Office and the university's STEM ambassadors, there are now a total of 19 Bachelor's study programmes to choose from.
The offer is aimed at all committed young women who would like to start their studies in one of the following Bachelor's study programmes in the winter semester 2024/25:
Applied Natural Sciences, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology and Economics, Environmental and Resource Management, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Land Use and Water Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Informatics, Medical Technology, Physics, Environmental Engineering, Economathematics, Business Informatics, Business Administration and Engineering
The application and submission of documents for the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg STEM Women's Scholarship must be submitted electronically, collected in a PDF file, to the e-mail address mint-botschafter(at)b-tu.de by August 31, 2024.
Interested women who are still waiting for their enrolment at BTU can also submit their application for the STEM Women's Scholarship.
To participate in the selection process for the scholarship, the following is required: a letter of motivation of no more than two pages or a short clip of up to three minutes in which the applicant explains why she would like to study a STEM subject, a current CV and the higher education entrance qualification. Optionally, letters of recommendation from teachers in STEM subjects and proof of extracurricular activities or active participation in interdisciplinary projects or voluntary work can be added.
The scholarship will be paid out to the selected scholarship holders after successful enrolment.
