Sustainable housing concepts for the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf

In May 2026, the Grundbach estate in Olbersdorf became a working site for architecture and urban planning students from Germany and the Czech Republic. As part of a workshop, students from the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) developed visions for the future of the former miners’ estate.

106th Conference of Civil Engineering Departmental Committees at the BTU

This week, the BTU is hosting the 106th Civil Engineering Departmental Committee Conference (BauFaK). Until Sunday, around 140 students and Departmental Committee representatives from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be meeting in Cottbus to discuss current issues in Civil Engineering, higher education policy and social matters.

Faculty 4 of BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg Elects New Dean’s Office

On 29 April 2026, Faculty 4 for Human Sciences at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg elected a new faculty leadership team. Prof. Dr. jur. habil. Jens M. Schubert was elected Dean. The newly elected Vice Deans are Prof. Dr. phil. Juliane Noack Napoles, responsible for Academic Affairs and Teaching, and Prof. Dr. Heidrun Herzberg, responsible for Research.
