Individual Doctorate

How and where do I apply for admission as a doctoral candidate?

To apply for admission as a doctoral candidate at the faculty, you need a confirmation of supervision from a university professor who is authorised to supervise doctoral candidates.
In particular, the confirmation of supervision documents the supervisor's agreement with the doctoral topic and his or her willingness to supervise the doctoral project (see: Confirmation of Supervision).
You are responsible for finding your own supervisor. Please use the faculty websites to search for suitable chairs and to contact potential supervisors.

Please send your application to the following address:
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg
Responsible Faculty
Platz der Deutschen Einheit 1
03046 Cottbus

What application documents do I need to submit?

The admission procedure and deadlines are set by the faculty at which you wish to do your doctorate. The documents listed below serve as a guideline; you may have to submit additional documents according to the doctoral regulations of the faculty that applies to you.
