Interdisciplinary research programme for sustainable aviation propulsion systems

With the new ['skai]-lab cooperation, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, the DLR Institute of Electrified Aero Engines and the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) are pooling their expertise in quality control, condition analysis and operational safety of additively manufactured components for electrified aircraft engines.

Successful BTU debut in the Jugend forscht family

The Brandenburg-South regional competition of Jugend forscht was held for the first time and with great success on 4 March 2026. Around 40 pupils presented 25 independently developed research projects to a jury from science and schools at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

Robotics at the BTU Children's University

Feminist Radio Day on Sunday, 8 March 2026

12 hours of live power from the sternchen.fm studio: for International Women's Day, the BTU radio project is broadcasting a special 12-hour live programme. Under the title "Feminist Radio Day", the free radio station for Cottbus and Lusatia will take over the programme from 12 noon to midnight - with voices, sounds and perspectives from science, activism, culture and the community.

New regional youth research competition for southern Brandenburg at BTU

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) Campus Senftenberg will become a meeting place for young scientific talent on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. At the Konrad Zuse Media Centre, 40 young people from ten schools in the region will demonstrate their research spirit and present their projects.

Avoid software conflicts during development

Conflicts are part of everyday life in software development, for example when teams work together on a system. A new DFG project at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and Philipps-Universität Marburg is now researching a proactive approach that not only recognises conflicts, but also specifically prevents them.
