Online symposium: School without hate

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) invites interested educators to an online symposium on Tuesday, 14 January 2025, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on the topic of "Effective strategies for dealing with hate speech at schools". The event is aimed at teachers, social pedagogues and school administrators in particular.

The positive trend continues: student numbers at BTU continue to rise

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is becoming increasingly attractive for prospective students. After around 2,000 young people enrolled for the first time since 2019 last year, this year's figure was 2,200. The total number of students rose to 7,100.

From Istanbul to Cottbus - BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has a new DAAD guest lecturer

Dr.-Ing. Turgut Saner has been teaching and researching at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) since the winter semester 2024/25. At the Institute of History of Art and Architecture, he passes on his expertise in late Ottoman art and architecture as well as archaeology to students and colleagues based on his experiences in his home city of Istanbul.

Lecture evening on technology and innovation for shaping a good future

In the public lecture series "Open BTU" with Prof. Dr Armin Grunwald on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, the focus will be on careful technology assessment in particular. "I AM A.I.": BTU presents interactive exhibition on artificial intelligence

The interactive travelling exhibition "I AM A.I. - Artificial Intelligence Explained" was opened with a vernissage on 2 December 2024 at BTU's Information, Communication and Media Centre (IKMZ). From now on, all interested parties are invited to discover the basics and fields of application of artificial intelligence (AI) in a playful way.

Long-distance structural change: conference focussed on transformation perspectives

More than 200 participants from research, politics and practice discussed the status of an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable transformation in the regions affected by the phase-out of lignite - the Rhenish, Lusatian and Central German mining areas - at the 2nd Transdisciplinary Structural Change Conference in Mönchengladbach on 27 and 28 November 2024.
