Sponsor’s description of the prize

"Soroptimist international" is the largest service community of employed women of the world. We are represented with over 3000 clubs in 113 countries and have around 100.000 members. The mission of our world-wide organisation focuses especially on ensuring ethical values, human rights and an improvement of the position of women, friendship and international understanding.

According to this mission the Club Cottbus wants to contribute to an intensification of intercultural dialogue. This it does by rewarding the performance of female students of the BTU who demontrate special involvement in their studies and beyond.

Once a year the prize is awarded together with the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus to a female student who performed very well in her studies and who stood up for international understanding and dialogue among students. In addition, the applicant should demonstrate involvement especially with improving the situation of women in Germany or elsewhere.
