BTU research in demand internationally: With a newly opened technology showroom in Georgia, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is putting its research into sustainable waste recovery and the circular economy into practice.

Six researchers from Germany and Switzerland are making their way through Greenland’s eternal ice, including two scientists and a graduate of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). The 40-day expedition “Spurensuche 2026” set off on 23 May 2026 on the historic west-east traverse from Ilulissat to Tasiilaq.

How can hospitals be reliably supplied even when wildfires make roads impassable, people have to be evacuated and, at the same time, the number of emergency patients is rising?

BTU is strengthening its role as a European pioneer in key future technologies for climate-neutral aviation. Through its research into hybrid-electric propulsion systems, hydrogen technologies, aircraft systems and sustainable mobility, the university is contributing its scientific expertise to a new European innovation partnership.
