The Open BTU series continues on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, with a topical subject. As a child, he was fascinated by a flying brain in a science fiction series. Today, at the BTU, he is researching how machines can recognise human mental states and adapt to them. Between that early fascination and cutting-edge international research, a new chapter in artificial intelligence is unfolding.

A new certificate course combines strategic management, crisis communication and technological tools to create an interdisciplinary learning programme. This practical course prepares students, Staff Members working in government departments, local politics and public administration, as well as volunteers, for the challenges of modern crisis management.

“The Thought Machine: How to Embark on a Journey of Discovery with AI” – this is the title of the next event organised by the Student University of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), which will take place on Wednesday 29 April 2026 at 3.30 pm on the main campus in Cottbus.

The fifth Conference on Neuroadaptive Technologies (NAT’26), organised by BTU, will take place from Wednesday to Friday, 22 to 24 April 2026, focusing on artificial intelligence – and the question of how it can be better adapted to human perception and decision-making processes.

All interested parties are invited to attend the opening on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
