Scholarships

Funded by the DAAD, we offer four scholarships each semester to outstanding students to help cover some of the costs associated with studying in the Double Degree programme.


Scholarships for the First Semester at BTU

Four scholarships are available to applicants from developing countries to study the first semester at BTU.

  • Travel Allowance: Amount depends on the applicant's home country.
  • Accommodation Allowance: Monthly allowance of 400€ for 5 months (October–February)
  • Application Process: Please indicate at the beginning of your motivation letter that you are applying for the DAAD-funded scholarship.
    Please note: The accommodation allowance is not a full scholarship and does not cover all living expenses. To live and study in Cottbus, you should budget for a higher amount per month.

Scholarships for the Second and Third Semesters at Cairo and Alexandria Universities

Four scholarships are available to applicants with German citizenship or a strong connection to Germany (e.g., a background that aligns with the DAAD's mission of fostering cultural and academic ties between Germany and Egypt) to study the second and third semesters at Cairo University and Alexandria University.
Please note: Egyptian students are not eligible to receive scholarships to study in Egypt.

  • Travel Allowance: One-time allowance of 850€
  • Accommodation Allowance: Monthly allowance of 1,260€ for 10 months (April–January)
  • Application Process: You will be informed by the course coordinator.

Scholarships for the Fourth Semester (Thesis Semester) at BTU

Four scholarships are available to applicants from developing countries to study the thesis semester at BTU.

  • Travel Allowance: One-time allowance of 850€
  • Accommodation Allowance: Monthly allowance of 400€ for 6 months (April–September)
  • Application Process: You will be informed by the course coordinator.

The scholarships are funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
