The Middle East Cooperation (MEC) is a collaborative network of universities from Aleppo, Alexandria, Baghdad, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, Sulaimani, and Cottbus. It promotes intensive professional exchanges and teamwork among master students and lecturers in architecture and urban planning. The MEC focuses on urban design, particularly revitalization and integrated development of historic cities. It leverages expertise from Germany and its eastern federal states to address contemporary urban challenges in the Middle East. Joint activities like Summer Schools and Urban Design Workshops highlight the value of multilateral exchange.
