Chair of Semiconductor Materials

In cooperation with the IHP - Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics in Frankfurt/Oder, new materials for innovative devices in microelectronics will be evaluated within the chair of semiconductor materials.

Based on the versatile applications of microelectronics, modern trends of device development with new materials can be derived due to the progressive functionalization of semiconductor technology:

  • Quantum devices
  • Optoelectronic devices
  • Sensory devices
  • Neuromorphic devices
  • 2D-devices

In these complex devices, a variety of heterogeneous material systems are brought together for analog, digital, neuromorphic, quantum mechanical and optical signal and data processing. In addition, the progressive functionalization of microelectronics offers a good starting position for innovations in many application fields.
