Human intervention in the environment creates situations, which are becoming increasingly complicated to deal with in the context of global climate change and world population growth. The management of water resources from the point of view of self-sustaining development is thus one of the major challenges of our time. A global goal must therefore be to avoid or at least to minimize the risk of crises in water supply, irrigation, flooding and sewage treatment.

The main objective of the Master's course is to train future scientists and qualified engineers as decision makers in modelling and management of water technology, projects related to environmental issues, and in the use of modern information and communication technologies of Hydroinformatics.
