Successful end-of-the-year event for young researchers
Organised by the Welcome Centre, the Graduate Research School and the Unit for Young Academics, the event was not only a welcome opportunity to end the year together, but also a chance to reflect on the year and look forward to the year ahead at BTU.
In a presentation by the project coordinator, Adriana Handrich, the participants learned more about EUNICE (EUNICE Research) and followed with interest the opportunities for researchers to participate in this project. The fact that both German and international researchers from all BTU faculties and campuses were present was seen as an advantage and facilitated stimulating discussions across disciplines. Over coffee and a variety of snacks, participants had the opportunity to make new contacts and share experiences.
"It was great to see so many young scientists come together to reflect on the year," said Benjamin Schnerch, a doctoral candidate in the Chair of Ecology. "The evening showed how important such events are for our community."
The researchers' families were also invited and a children's play area was set up. Dr Omar Kebiri, Research Fellow at the Chair of Stochastics and its Applications, was not the only one who was delighted: "Today's event to end the year for young researchers was wonderful. I felt at home, especially because I was able to bring my family".
The organisers would like to thank all participants and helping hands who contributed to the success of this event. A big thanks also goes to the BTU Sponsors' Association, without whose support this evening would not have been possible, as well as to the Studierendenwerk Ost:Brandenburg, which provided the catering.
