Energy turnaround solutions along the Berlin-Lausitz innovation corridor

On September 16, we had the opportunity to meet a delegation from Andreas Audretsch's office as part of their tour along the Berlin-Lausitz innovation corridor. The tour was organized with the support of WISTA Management GmbH and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The central theme of the tour was energy transition solutions. Various stops along the route gave the delegation the opportunity to find out about current projects and developments in the region .

After a visit to Adlershof, where they learned about the technology park and the cooperation between BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), and Lübbenau, where the focus was on social and infrastructural change and the GREEN HUB project, the last stop was Cottbus.

At BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, the participants gained insights into research projects such as HoCHQant, as well as the projects of the Cottbus Energy Innovation Center (EIZ) and energy transition solutions at the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park.

LSP plays a central role in implementation

Another highlight of the tour was the presentation of the Lausitz Science Park, which is being built on the former airfield site in Cottbus-Nord. In the old tower, we presented our vision of how the Lausitz Science Park will grow into a major innovation center in the coming years. Under the management of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and in close cooperation with the city of Cottbus and other partners, a platform will be created here that combines research, business start-ups and technological progress in the fields of energy and high technology. With its international focus, the Lusatia Science Park will not only strengthen the region economically, but will also play a central role in the implementation of the energy transition.

Finally, the delegation visited the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems, which conducts research into alternative drive technologies for cross-sector applications.

The tour showed once again how important the connection between science, business and society is for a successful energy transition. Many thanks to all those involved for their support and organization of this enriching day.
