Medical Informatics
Students in the Bachelor of Medical Informatics working on body sensors
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Description

The study course Medical Informatics focuses on applying computational neuroscience, data analysis as well as signal and image processing to medicine. The unifying element of these three priority subjects is that they apply models and simulation processes to contribute to our understanding of the interactions between biomechanics, the environment and information processing in biological systems. Such models might rely on a knowledge base which will support a physician in making his decisions, for example, by an automated model-based analysis of patient data or the simulation of patient behavior.

On the foundation of a broad basic education graduates are to be enabled to develop analytical and conceptual skills in the field of medical informatics. Apart from specialized subjects of medical informatics and medicine, a sustainable theoretical knowledge will be conveyed by means of a balanced assortment of basic IT subjects.

Sarah Michelle Mehnert - Studentin Medizininformatik
