Language changes. From a historical perspective, this is not a new phenomenon. Current approaches, such as a gender-reflective and discrimination-critical use of language, aim to reflect on our speech in terms of what effect it has: Who is being addressed? Who is meant? How is it possible to speak in a respectful way that excludes experiences of discrimination and possible violations? Which approaches open up common learning processes and paths towards a most inclusive, solidary and dialogue-oriented coexistence? In the lecture, background knowledge on the relevant topics will be conveyed as well as thinking in the direction of practice.
The nationwide Online Ring Lecture (ORV) has been organized since 2008 by institutions of scientific continuing education of older people in cooperation with the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung Älterer (BAG WiWA). This year, the focus is on "Images of Man - Views and Perspectives". Various sciences that have shaped our view of humanity and our view of the world will be examined, including anthropology, cultural studies, philosophy and other disciplines.
The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg offers a wide range of study programmes, research opportunities and open courses. It is thus a respected player in the regional and national educational landscape for lifelong learning.
