Students are only enrolled for the winter semester.
The application period runs from March 1st to July 15th of each year.
There are two different ways to apply - depending on your country of origin:
- European and International applicants submit their application online to the University Application Service for International Students uni-assist.
- Applicants with a German higher education degree apply via BTU's Online Application Portal.
You must have a relevant first academic degree (Bachelor's degree etc.) in this or in a comparable subject area with a university entrance qualification for Germany as well as sufficient knowledge of English.
The language of instruction is English.
BTU accepts the following English language certificates:
- TOEFL ibt (min. 79 points)
- IELTS Academic (min. 6.0)
- Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (min. B)
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (min. C)
- UniCert (Level II)

Only applicants from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain, USA and students who have obtained a first degree in English in one of the above-mentioned countries or in Germany are exempted from these regulations.

Your first academic degree (Bachelor's degree etc.) must be relevant to your subject.
The limitation of study places is handled flexibly. The admission is based on academic aptitude.
No, there is no entrance exam.
Participation in the Degree Programme currently costs € 341.40 per semester.
