Exceptional technology-supported learning formats and resources such as virtual learning environments can advance the various phases of the teaching and learning process in continuing vocational education and training. In particular, digital media and technologies can be used to adapt to the individual skills, interests and learning needs of participants.

With lectures by theologian and Probst Thomas Besch and historian Prof. Dr. Arnd Bauerkämper, the public lecture series "Open BTU" will kick off an exciting summer semester full of controversial topics on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 5:30 pm.

Two projects at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) have qualified for funding until the end of 2028: The Fit@BTU project with around €1.18 million and the IQ@BB project with €700 thousand.

The Open University brings together students, professionals and people who want to continue their education after graduation. As every semester, we offer a wide range of courses, workshops, project groups and excursions. The new program will be published with a catalog hot off the press at the end of March. The courses start in the second week of April.

The public lectures and discussion will focus on the historical processes of structural upheaval in Lusatia. In the public lecture series "Open BTU" on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., the perspectives offered by the use of virtual reality and drones for new learning will be demonstrated. All interested parties are invited to the Central Lecture Hall Building of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) on the Cottbus main campus.

The Centre for Continuing Education took part in the "Participant Survey of Continuing Education for Older People 2023", which was conducted by the University of Magdeburg in cooperation with the BAG WiWA.

The subject of the public lecture series "Open BTU" on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. is the current documentary series "Hinter dem Abgrund" by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR). Media professionals from the responsible production company and the broadcaster itself will present the series and discuss it with the participants.

The public lecture series "Open BTU" will focus on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., projects for structural change in Lusatia under the leadership of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). The speakers will be Ariane Derks, Managing Director of the Lausitz Science Park, and Dr. Jakob Pohlisch from the Energy Innovation Centre.
