The research activities in this topic concentrate on the use and application of enzymes in industrial relevant chemical production processes. As an representative example the lipase-catalysed hydrolysis of native oils is considered. As basic research the interactions between sorption and enzymatic reaction at hydrophobic surfaces are investigated. Furthermore, new types of multi-phase-reactors for enzymes in free or immobilized form are to be developed and tested and run on laboratory and industrial scale.
