Research Track

An Optional Study Path

The Research Track is an optional study path within the ERM Master’s program designed for students who are especially interested in scientific research and potentially pursuing a PhD after graduation.

Why Choose the Research Track?

What Does It Involve?

Starting in the third semester, students in the Research Track:

  • Take the special “ERM Research Module” (18 ECTS), tailored to current research projects at BTU. It replaces subject-related compulsory elective modules.
  • Complete the regular Study Project (12 ECTS).
  • Write a research-oriented master’s thesis (30 ECTS).
How to Apply?
  • Applications must be submitted to the Degree Programme Coordinator (Mr. Elhag) by a professor from Faculty 2 before the end of the second semester's lecture period
  • You have completed at least 54 ECTS credits.
  • You have a grade average of 1.3 or better (exceptions possible with faculty support and a grade average up to 1.7).
  • Include your current transcript when applying.
