Niyanta Shetye

Niyanta Shetye is an Academic Employee at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg since 2021, where he supports various environmental projects, teaching activities and research. He also conducts seminars and lectures for master's students on international climate policy, sustainable development and has a keen interest in digitalisation. Niyanta has experience as a Scientific Assistant and E-learning Consultant, working on courses related to climate policy and environmental issues. His skills include event management, project coordination, scientific writing, project proposal writing, and expertise in environmental law and policy analysis. He has contributed to e-learning courses at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and One Resilient Earth on climate change adaptation, Nature based solutions, and droughts.

During his studies at BTU Cottbus, Niyanta worked with the United Nations Climate Change secretariat and the United Nations University - Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) for research and communications activities. 

This inspired him to pursue his master thesis on "Communicating Climate Change" and his doctoral studies on "Digitalisation for Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building - D-CARB".

Apart from work and studies, Niyanta practices landscape photography and travel photography in his free time.
