EUNICE is formed by seven universities from seven European countries. The partner universities have in common that they are located rather far away from the urban centers of the respective countries. For this reason, they are characterized by similar problems in recruiting students and staff and in coping with structural change.
The Alliance of Universities aims to increase the national and regional attractiveness of all partners. This will be achieved by providing competitive and personalized education that meets the needs of individuals, society, the labor market, and the industrial and corporate sectors. Through global university contacts, the often very regionally oriented economy is to be internationalized and thus made more competitive. In this process, each partner contributes with its individual strengths. Thus, the BTU, as a technical university, will offer courses from the MINT area in particular.
In addition to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, EUNICE includes Politechnika Poznanska (PUT, Polen), which is leading the consortium; Universidad de Cantabria (UC, Spanien); Université de Mons (UMONS, Belgien); Università degli Studi di Catania (UNICT, Italien), Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF, Frankreich); Vaasan Yliopisto (UVA, Finnland).
