Through the education in an application subject the student gets to know basic tasks and procedures of an application area of computer science. The goal is to study the possibilities of computer science to solve scientific problems of other fields. He also learns how to cooperate with representatives of other disciplines and deepens his understanding of other fields of knowledge. Possible application subjects are mathematics, physics, electrical and mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and civil engineering.

The choice of modules is made in consultation with the mentor. The range of possible course combinations from the Bachelor's program can be used as a guide. Other modules can be approved by the examination board at the student's suggestion. This then also ensures the later smooth booking of the module in the examination office.The pre-approved modules can be taken from the module catalog for the Master' s program.

At least 8 credit points must be earned in the application subject as an examination. Together with the mathematics modules, at least 20 credit points must be earned.
