Final presentations software student project in cooperation with Thiem-Research GmbH

On 03.02.2023 three student teams of the software student project (Softwarepraktikum) successfully presented their results.

This year's software student project led by Prof. Leen Lambers and Lucas Sakizloglou at the Department of Software Systems Engineering was conducted in cooperation with the Thiem-Research GmbH, the research institute at the Carl-Thiem-Klinikum. The team from Thiem-Research was extraordinarily pleased with the high quality of the solutions in each of the student teams.

Within the "iCampμs" context, the Thiem-Research GmbH is conducting a clinical trial for the novel Raman measuring device called "RamSpecFree456". The measuring device was developed at the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik in Berlin and determines carotenoids in the upper skin layer. Carotenoids have an antioxidant effect and can reduce the risk of certain diseases (e.g. cancer and cardiovascular diseases).

Each of the three development teams had the task to develop a Raman Clinical Trial App (RCT App).  The RCT App is designed to support the education and informed consent of trial participants and the conduct of clinical trial interviews. Each team consisted of 5-7 undergraduate students and was supervised by a tutor (Agile Coaching). The teams were also mentored by Master's students (Architecture and Quality Coaching) from the Praktikum Softwaretechnik.
