3 steps to successfully start your enrolment at BTU for applicants from Germany and international applicants

Enrolment for winter semester 2020/2021:

1. Online-enrolment in myBTU by 18th October 2020 at the latest

Do not forget to print out the enrolment application after completing your online enrolment!

2. Payment of the semester fees

Information about the payment of semester fees can be found on the application of enrolment. Please note that the university cannot cover any additional costs incurred by trans- ferring the fees from abroad.

3. Dispatch or Submission of enrolment documents

All non-EU citizens generally require a visa for enrolment.
An enrolment with a tourist visa is not possible.
Further information can also be obtained from the

The first steps for start of studies at BTU for applicants from Germany and international applicants

Student Identification Card

After receipt of the semester fees and submission of all enrolment relevant documents you will be enroled at our university. Applicants from Germany will receive their chip card (student ID card) and the activation code for your BTU account unsolicited by post until one week before the beginning of the lecture. If you pay the semester fees later, you will receive an e-mail with an appointment when you can pick up the chip card at our Information Centre on the Campus Cottbus (Main Campus) or the Campus Senftenberg. And all international applicant will also receive an e-mail with an appointment when the chip card can be picked up at our Information Centre on the Campus Cottbus (Main Campus) or the Campus Senftenberg.

Studies at BTU are characterized by a good supervision situation and uncomplicated, personal communication with lecturers. We are currently doing everything we can to offer you this quality this winter semester as well. Due to the general conditions caused by the Corona Pandemic, the semester will be a little different than usual, but we are particularly concerned with providing you with as much support as possible when you begin your studies. This starts in our introductory week (OTIWO) from 25th October – 30th October 2020. You are welcome to attend the introductory event for your study programme where you will get detailed und practical information about the start of your studies (timetable, course administration, etc.).
