Children on campus
We are always striving to design our campus to support students and employees with family responsibilities at the University. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to write to us at familie(at)b-tu.de.
Our family-friendly offerings on the university campuses of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg:
Parent-child room
Families can bridge handover or waiting times on campus or work here. Depending on the parent-child room, the equipment includes a nappy-changing unit, playpen, high chair, microwave and/or bottle warmer, toys/painting materials, puzzles and books.
On the Cottbus main campus and the Sachsendorf campus, there is an internet-enabled computer workstation available for research and other small tasks while children play or sleep.

Children's corners in university libraries
The University Library welcomes parents and their young children.
The library has set up a learning and colouring corner at the main campus (reading room on the 4th floor behind the book boxes) and at the Cottbus-Sachsendorf site (Building 7) to keep children quietly occupied.
At Campus Senftenberg, the library has a box of children's books and colouring books that can be borrowed in the entrance area.

Player backpack
Toys to borrow
If you have your child with you while you are studying or working, or if you need to bridge waiting times on campus with your child, you can borrow one of our play backpacks.
The rucksacks contain toys for children between the ages of 0 and 10. These include various books, Schleich animals, a card game as well as colouring and puzzle toys. You can borrow a toy rucksack from the service desks in our libraries during opening hours.

You can also borrow a backpack by telephone from Diana Häusler (main campus Cottbus, HG 1.08, +49 (0) 355 69 3834).
Child-friendly canteen
The canteens are child-friendly and have high chairs and a play corner. With the baby food warmers provided (available on request from staff), you can bring your baby food to the right temperature and eat together with your little one.

Children's University
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg gives children the opportunity to get a taste of university life and teaches them about solutions to everyday scientific phenomena in an exciting and child-friendly way. This creates formative experiences that fund the youngest children's interest in science and reduce their fear of contact with the university.
