17.09.2025 - Personal care counselling for employees at the Cottbus main campus

Care affects us all
Reconciling work and family care poses major challenges for many people - often unexpected and involving considerable organisational effort. To support you in such situations, we are now offering personal care counselling once a month directly at the Cottbus main campus.

Who is the service for?
The free, confidential and anonymous counselling is aimed at all employees - both those with current care needs in their family environment and those who would like to obtain information at an early stage and as a preventative measure.

What can you expect?
Specialists from the Cottbus care support centre will advise you individually on topics such as

  • Organisation and planning of care
  • Care insurance benefits
  • Relief services for family carers
  • Legal bases and support services

Procedure and registration
45 minutes are set aside for each counselling session; if necessary, the time can be extended to up to 60 minutes.

02.12.2025 - Workshop: Living farewell (for employees)

Date: 02.12.2025 (main campus), 9 am to 11 am

This practical course is aimed at family carers and interested individuals. It teaches strategies for accompanying dying people, strengthens confidence in dealing with death and dying and provides access to helpful networks.

Contents of the course:

  • Practical impulses for dealing with dying (e.g. nutrition, pain, touch)
  • Information on regional/non-regional support services (e.g. SAPV, hospice services)
  • Legal aspects and funeral culture
  • Self-care, coping with stress and dealing with grief
  • Avoiding unnecessary hospitalisation

Communication channels, rituals, dealing with people with dementia and ways of saying goodbye at home are also discussed. The course encourages participants to confront their own fears and shows where support can be found.

Summer holidays and it's raining? No problem - try our full-body workout with children for a change!

The video shows examples of exercises for a full-body workout with young children. Each exercise serves as inspiration and must be individually adapted to the age of your child and your own physical condition. If certain exercises are not feasible for you due to previous illnesses or operations, these can also be modified or omitted completely. All exercises are also possible without a child and form a good basis for home training. Fun during training and sore muscles the next day are expressly encouraged!
