Civil Engineering Laboratory

In the first two years of the Bachelor's programme, teaching is supported by related visual experiments held in the Civil Engineering Laboratory in room 0.25/3 in the LG2A wing. The aim of this series of experiments, which has been devised with the assistance of students, is to teach and train technical imagination with regard to forces, dimensions and proportions. Significant engineering phenomena are explained as part of destructive and non-destructive testing. A variety of facilities for demonstrating, simulating and analysing problems related to construction are available in the Civil Engineering Laboratory. The active participation of students in setting up and carrying out experiments with calculations and measurements related to material samples, components and structural models supports the basic theory taught in the structural design subjects in Civil Engineering.
