The skeletal muscle fulfills a variety of tasks in the organism and demonstrates an astonishing ability to adapt and regenerate. The research group led by biologist Prof. Julia von Maltzahn is working on approaches to improve the regeneration of skeletal muscle.

Researchers at the Leibniz Institute for Aging Research in Jena and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) were able to show that even a small component of this messenger is sufficient to mediate the full function of skeletal muscles.

On October 27, 2022, the meeting of the GRS cluster REGproAgE took place at the Institute of Biotechnology at the BTU in Senftenberg. The meeting was attended by 35 scientists.
