On Sunday, 21 June 2026, Pushkin Park will become a meeting place for lovers of international culture from 12 noon to 7 pm. This colourful mix of Singing, dancing and culinary delights has long since become a cherished tradition – and for many visitors, a highlight of the Cottbus City Festival. BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande and Lord Mayor Tobias Schick will open the event together.

On 12 June, the Spreekino Spremberg became a stage for entertaining science: at the 5th Brandenburg Science Slam, six slammers presented their topics to an audience of just under 150 people. The winner was Rudy Cepeda Gomez from the DLR Institute of Electrified Aviation Propulsion.

Lucas Kowal works as a Staff Member at the Chair of Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics at the BTU and recently took part in parabolic flights. Under conditions of weightlessness, he investigated flow phenomena that could prove significant in the future for satellite technology, amongst other things.
