Seminar: Current Developments in Microeconomics (Master's)

Description

The seminar aims to make master's students aware of current specialist discussions in microeconomics and enable them to read and critically discuss current research papers and place them in a broader context.

Content

The seminar focuses on current research topics in economics with a microeconomic focus. Each semester, a different topic is selected and analyzed on the basis of current research papers.

Please refer to the subheading for the respective semester for the current focus and the topics to be assigned.

Requirements

Written term paper, active participation in discussions and, if planned for the specific semester, a co-presentation on the term papers of other participants.

The exact requirements will be discussed with the participants in the preliminary meeting.

Grade weighting

  • Term paper/essays: 70%
  • Presentation (and co-presentation, if assigned): 15%
  • Participation in discussions: 15%
