EU-CORE application procedure for transferring to the BTU

For the European Master on Control of Renewable Energy Systems (EU-CORE), enrollment for the 3rd semester takes places at BTU. Students must apply via the BTU application portal myBTU at the beginning of the application period and submit the following documents:

  • Bachelor's certificate and overview of grades in the original language - and additionally in a sworn translation (in German or English)
  • University entrance qualification (highest school-leaving certificate) in the original language - and additionally in a sworn translation (in German or English)
  • Proof of English language skills: MB_Sprachnachweis_Englisch_Language_Certificate_English.pdf
  • Complete curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Letter of admission EU-CORE
  • Overview of grades from previous studies in EU-CORE

Procedure:

  • There, the EU-CORE students register and then log in as registered applicants.
  • The EU-CORE students then select the EU-CORE Degree Programme and follow the instructions in the menu.
  • As soon as the EU-CORE students have completed and submitted their application in the BTU application portal, their admission for the third semester at BTU will be issued and sent to them.
  • The myBTU application portal will open on 20 April and close for applications from abroad on 15 July. EU-CORE applications to transfer to the third semester at BTU must be submitted during this period.
Note on the electronic submission of the admission letter as well of other documents

Note on the electronic submission of the admission letter as well of other documents

Provided that EU-CORE students have consented to digital transmission when applying via myBTU (this is one of the first two questions they must answer during registration) and then access their documents via the myBTU portal within 10 days, the entire process will be handled digitally. Only if they have not accessed the digital documents after 10 days will the documents be printed and sent to the EU-CORE students by post.

After applying via the myBTU portal and consenting to the digital transmission of documents, EU-CORE students will always receive an email notification whenever something new has been uploaded to their myBTU portal account. Consequently, it is entirely up to them whether they receive their admission notification electronically or not.

For a study visit to Germany, the proof of student health insurance that is also valid in Germany is required. Without this, enrolment is not possible.

The EU-CORE students who bring health insurance from abroad must have it recognised by a German statutory health insurance company before transferring to their third semester at the BTU. To do so, they must submit a so-called M10 application.

General information on applying for recognition of foreign student health insurance (M10 application) is available here.
