A great success: Get Into Energy - New R&D Opportunities for Energy Students in Cottbus

The first edition of our event series "Get Into Energy - New R&D Opportunities for Energy Students in Cottbus" offered numerous students the opportunity to network with our partner institutions from the field of energy research.

The competencies and activities in the field of energy research in Cottbus have grown significantly in recent years with the establishment of various highly renowned research institutions and major structural change projects. For energy students the opportunities to actively participate in the research of sustainable energy supply are expanding. Therefore, at the end of the winter semester 2022/23, the Energy Innovation Center (EIZ) of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg invited students from the Power Engineering and Energy Technology and Energy Economics programs to a joint networking evening.

The Energy Innovation Center (EIZ) as well as the partner institutions Fraunhofer IEG, DLR Institute for Electrified Aerospace Propulsion, DLR Institute for Low CO2 Industrial Processes, Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco) introduced themselves in a short pitch session and highlighted the opportunities for students. In the subsequent get-together, an intensive and personal exchange about the individual research projects took place.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Schiffer, head of the Power Engineering program and project manager of the Energy Innovation Center, points out opportunities for students.
