ALMIK: Living actively with cancer

Runtime

2019 to 2020

Summary of the project results

The program "Active Living with Cancer" (ALMIK) was developed for oncology patients to provide them with scientifically sound and easy-to-implement information on health behavior after a cancer diagnosis. In addition to a short self-test on support needs, ALMIK offers low-threshold recommendations for action on exercise, nutrition, non-smoking, sun protection and cancer screening. For this purpose, a free brochure, a website and several short video spots with concrete instructions are available to those affected and interested.

The program is of particular benefit to patients in regions where there are few courses and counseling on healthy lifestyles for cancer patients and former patients. In order to take the needs and experiences of cancer patients into account as much as possible, ALMIK was developed with the participation of those affected.
